Fish fry need for their development a diet rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) such as:
 AA (arachidonic acid) 20:4(n-6)
 EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) 20:5(n-3)
 DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) 22:6(n-3)

These essential fatty acids (EFA) cannot be synthesized de novo by the fish but are naturally present in the algae species grown in the bags system like Chaetoceros, Isochrisis, Pavlova or Tetraselmis.

But what is crucial for good development and the survival of the fry is not just the presence of these PUFA but their ratio between one and other.

By its flexibility the bag system allow you to grow as many different species as you have bags in your system if you whish to do so.

It then very easy once you now the EFA composition of the different algae species to arrange a balanced diet close to the required ratio of PUFA you are looking for.
